About Me

About me Hi there,

Thanks for looking at my blog! I’m Abby, a female in my mid twenties who has been bitten by the travel bug. In March 2013, I will be moving to London where I plan to be based for the next couple of years. On the way I will be having a four-month holiday through South East Asia, India and Nepal. I will be doing this as a solo traveller. This is my first time travelling alone and really the purpose of this blog – to keep in touch with everyone, particularly my parents who seem to think I am going to meet an untimely death falling off an elephant or suffering from altitude sickness on Mt Everest, or worse still bought into slavery never to be heard of again (although secretly I think they can’t wait to get rid of me after we have been co-habitating for the last six months). I will be including detailed travel diaries, reviews of places I stay/locations/tours and general musings related to travelling.

Whilst my love of travel has always been there it has certainly grown in the last few years. The purpose of this blog is to capture all future travel adventures to share with my friends and family, and if I happen inspire others to do and see new things or offer advice of places that would be a bonus.

I strongly believe that it is better to regret something you did rather than something you didn’t do and I try to live by that and appreciate the beauty of every day.

I hope you enjoy my blog.

Disclaimer: I am not a writer, I don’t pretend to be and I don’t have high expectations of my abilities but I think this is a great forum to remember the journey and it is nice to have a little hobby.

  1. I’m decades older than you, and MY mother has the same convictions as your parents, except she thinks I’ll be held hostage. Too old to be appealing to the sex traffickers.
I’ll be back by the time you start YOUR travels, so I’m looking forward to revisiting some of the wonderful places I’ve been via your blog.

    • Oh I’m glad I’m not the only one! I wrote a post about the movies Taken and Taken 2 for the sole purpose of my parents learning what to do in the case of the worse (and leaving me alone until the worst happens!). Thanks for reading and your blog is already making me a tad excited about my impending departure… if only the days could pass faster.

  2. I am enjoying your blog and look forward to hearing about all your travels! I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award: http://robindeutschmann.wordpress.com/2013/03/08/and-the-award-goes-to-2/

    • Wow, thank you! I’ve only just started blogging so this comes as quite a surprise and I am very flattered. I’m going to have to take some time to think about who I should pass it on to.
      Thanks again!
